The following Tips will help ensure a great hike for you and your hiking group!

1. If hiking during late spring, summer or early fall, start your hike early in the day. The first section of the Breakneck Ridge is the most intense section of the hike. You'll burn through a lot of energy & generate a lot of heat which can make it less pleasant if hiking this section during the heat of mid-day.

2. While hiking the first section you'll encounter some trickier climbing areas. If you feel uncomfortable with any of these climbs, look for the alternate paths which is usually marked with an X and / or the word alternate. All alternate marked paths will lead you back to the main trail within a few minutes so you will not miss out on the main trail.

3. Be sure to bring enough water and / or sport drinks especially during hot days. Consider brining water and add powdered electrolytes to ever other bottle of water you go through. Your great hike can quickly turn unpleant if you run out of water on a hot day.

4. You can ride this in running shoes but some of the climbing area can be tricky if you can not get a good grip. Good hiking boots will provide the desired transaction as well as keep your feet getting sore as you get further into the hike.

5. Bringing some light snacks will help keep your hike spirited and enjoyable.

6. Bring a camera to capture some priceless shots & memories!

7. Hiking alone can be great, but traveling with a good friend is safer & often more fun.

8. Be sure to bring a wellmarked map and compass with you. Being unsure of where you going and if your lost is never a good feeling.

9. Car parking in a dirt parking lot and on the side of the street is plentiful but if your coming from New York City, consider the Breakneck Ridge Metro North Train (Weekend and Holiday only) stop on the Hudson line.

10. If your looking to do a half day hike, consider the Breakneck Bypass loop which will leave you close to where you originally started.

11. If your more adventurous with good stamina, consider doing a full day hike by taking the Breakneck Ridge Trail to the Wilkinson Memorial trail. You'll be rewarded with a special view of the Hudson River and Newburgh-Beacon Bridge from a wooden observation deck as well as different angles of Bannerman Castle. Find a map, directions, a video tour and trial information here for the Breakneck Ridge and Wilkinson Memorial trains. This is an extended loop which will leave you close to were you started your hiking adventure.

12. Do not forget to sign in at the Trailhead log book!

Shopping Tips for Refrigerators

Nowadays, technology is changing almost daily. The features available on refrigerators are also changing rapidly. Although you may think that you need the most expensive and high-end refrigerator, cheap, low-end fridges are just as acceptable.

You will want to assess your needs and wants before committing to a refrigerator. Budget is also something to consider. If you have minimal space to work with, think about buying a smaller refrigerator.

Even though you may be on a low-budget, this does not mean that you need to shop at outlets. Department stores may carry cheaper refrigerators with the features one may be looking for. One way to verify the features and function of a refrigerator is to read reports written by other consumers. One thing that you will want to avoid is purchasing a cheap, unreliable fridge as this may lead to additional expenses when the refrigerator breaks down. Quality should be a major factor when deciding on a refrigerator.

Some additional factors to take into consideration are food storage needs, as well as room size and placement. If you do not use a refrigerator too much, you may want to look at buying a smaller fridge.

In order to avoid feeling overwhelmed, it is recommended that you take notes on your needs and space available. You should focus on the features that are most important to you as well. These two tips can save you time and energy.

It is also important that you measure the space where you are placing your fridge. This will ensure that you buy the right size refrigerator, and will save you time when shopping. Dimensions that you should measure are height, width and cubic feet. Another significant feature to take into consideration is the direction the refrigerator door opens. You will also want to check to make sure that the freezer is in the spot you would like it, either up high or down low.

You should also think about whether you are simply replacing an old refrigerator, or are looking to increase the value of your home. Take into thought whether you are adding touch to a finished kitchen, or whether the refrigerator is going into an unfinished area. Try to match the feel of your kitchen to your new refrigerator. If you have a modern kitchen, look for a fridge that is modern in style. If you have a more classic style kitchen, look for a refrigerator that fits into the traditional decor.

When shopping for a new refrigerator, it is not important to buy the most expensive one. Make sure to take into consideration factors like budget, space, decor, and functionality.

Housebreaking Dog Training – Tips & Tricks

What to Look For:

If you have a puppy or dog that is not yet housebroken and are in need of a dog training toilet system, then look for clues that tell you he needs to go. Your dog may suddenly put his nose down and sniff the ground intentionally, or he may begin to circle a specific area, or he may stare at the door with an intense look on his face. If so, then you might be able to stop him / her before it's too late.

What to Do:

Most of the time, if you have not taken him outside already, you'll be too late and find the surprise without warning, in which case you should rush over to find him (if he's already gone and out of the vicinity) the collar, pulling up on it slightly as you lead him to his mess, showing him, and say, "No" in a deep, stern voice (finger wagging is optional). Immediately take him outside (say "outside" as well) to let him finish up (if he has any left) and praise him with pats and compliments. After he / she has finished, you should say "hurry up" and signal him / her to get going back inside. These words serve as a trigger command, which can make a cold winter's day walk with him much quicker as needed.

With dog training toilet programs, an added piece of advice I picked up on, was that if you are telling your dog off, it should be especially deep and rough (like Sean Connery), however when you are looking him / her, it should be high-pitched and sweet (like the Chipmunks). Throwing in some excited vacuuming and baby talk also helps.

Cleaning up:

There are special puppy training sprays that can be used for persuading dogs into certain areas. If accidents happen, remove all evidence (including scent, so as to stop him / her from recognizing the place as a potty area) with a thorough cleaning and not just a quick wipe. Some products on the market remove all traces of pet urine and waste from your carpets and upholstery, and there are certain books I've read which give amazing examples of how to remove different types of stains (see resource), as well as advancing the puppy house break procedure which sometimes does not work for every dog. However, despite the whole complexity of a dog training toilet development, certain ways can at times be tedious with persistence being key. There is much more to be learned on the subject, as I found with books I've collected.

4 Tips to Increase Your Cash Flow

The lifeblood of your business is cash flow. To use an analogy, cash flow is the equivalent of blood in the human body. A steady and adequate supply is needed to ensure a healthy body and mind as well as the ability to cope with unexpected stresses and strains. Issues with cash flow account for the demise of many businesses. Do not let yours be one of them. The following list offers some of the tactics you can use to increase your cash flow.

Manage Your Debtors
Ensure you have in place, and communicate, terms of trade and your policies for payment of accounts. Develop procedures for checking debtor levels and following up in a timely manner – this will minimize your customers "using you as a bank". Be firm with recalcitrant payers and send a series of letters followed up with telephone calls until payment is made.

Review Accounts Payable
If you are dealing in volume buying with a particular supplier, they may be open to extending the amount of time you have to pay (30 days instead of 7 for example).

Manage Your Inventory
Set benchmarks for your inventory levels and tie stock ordering into sales forecasts. Buying up big on a particular product line purely because a representative gave you a great deal can make sense, but only if you know your sales systems can read move that stock. Many businesses tie up a lot of their cash in inventory without solid plans on how they are going to market and sell that inventory in the short term. Sometimes great deals can be done with suppliers by negotiating a bulk order, having them hold the stock, and then only delivering the stock in stages when your marketing and sales machine has sold it. Offer special prices on slow-moving stock or bundle it with popular product lines as a bonus.

Invoice Quickly
Yes I know, it sounds so basic and yet you would be surprised how many businesses do not invoice immediately. Sending an invoice out three or five days late might mean having to wait an extra 30 days for your money. You may encourage quick payment of accounts by offering a small discount if the account is paid in seven days.
And a few more ideas to boot!

  • If capital can not be self-financed always have additional sources of reserve funds available
  • Make one person accountable for collecting payments due.
  • Make one person accountable for tracking stock turns, reorder levels and matching up sales forecasts with stock required.
  • Fire customers who are constantly slow to pay

Cleaning Your Car – 4 Great Tips!

Here I am back again to help you, This time with some cleaning tips to make your car shine.

Car cleaning tip # 1 Wax on wax off, OK bad reference but when you wax your car you want to make sure you do not have any residue left on it anything that could cause scratches like sand dirt etc, Wash and dry your car thoroughly first, Make sure you are waxing at at least 65 degrees or better and avoid direct sunlight. Direct sunlight is bad because the wax will harden too much making removal much more difficult. The choice of wax is really up to you but I do recommend a carnuba type it is the best performing and will last the longest, other polishes like polymers etc, Are OK but as for once a year I do not agree, You should wax your car at least once every 3 months.

Car cleaning tip # 2 Cleaning your motor. A very small amount of dirt build up on your motor can believe it or not create a higher operating temperature, when you do clean it make sure it is cold you never want to spray cold water on a hot motor basic physics apply, Cold on hot can cause cracking or other adverse can use a motor cleaner they called degreaser and work quite well. Another thing you will want to do is take plastic and securely cover any water sensitive items lie the alternator, Wiring etc.

Car Cleaning tip # 3 Cleaning your dash, Using an old toothbrush or cotton swabs is a great way to get into the tiny little nooks and crannies, also use a terrycloth towel when cleaning the main parts paper towels leave little particles. Window cleaner will work on getting other spots up as well so you do not necessarily have to get any kind of special cleaner for the dash. When and if you apply a vinyl dressing be careful not to get it on the clear plastic parts like the speedometer area it will cause hazing.

Car cleaning tip # 4 Cleaning your car carpet. One of the best ways to do this is with a wet dry shop vacuum you can vacuum it dry and use any water based spotters with it as well. Using a spotter treat the spot work it in well and with a glass of water pour into it while vacuuming this will increase your chances of successfully removing the spot.

10 Dog Behavior Training Tips

Here are some training tips that will make training your dog a lot easier. Observe the following tips for your dog:

1. Praise your dog for every good deed that he does, for following the commands that you give. One way to praise him is by giving rewards. Remember, only give rewards for good deeds since it encourages them to repeat the same behavior. Giving rewards for bad deed or behaviors can also be repeated.

2. As much as possible, do not give food as a reward. It may disrupt your dogs appetite and its already a basic need to eat and drink, etc. An alternative could be allowing him to play with his favorite toy, petting / hugging him, or taking him out for a walk.

3. Whenever you give a command, be sure you have a reward readily available, if ever the dog succeeds.

4. If ever a dog does not follow your command, punishing him should not include abuse of any kind. We love our dogs and would not want to hurt them. We want them to respect us, not fear us.

5. Use the same commands and answers for every action your dog does, have a name for each of them.

6. Use no to let the dog know something his dog is wrong and use yes or another positive word for something he does right.

7. If other family members are also training the dog. Make sure you all have universal commands, as not to confuse the dog.

8. As you begin the training, start slowly, allowing the dog to master one command at a time. Start with Sit for a week or so, then move on to Stay after.

9. Start training your dog at an early age. The saying "you can not teach an old new tricks" is somewhat true. You can still teach old dogs, it just takes a little longer.

10. Observe your dog while on training, see if he is progressing. If there is nor progress, make sure that there is nothing wrong with him physically by accompanying him to the vet.

Heart Diseases Warning Signs – Tips on Prevention

What are the causes of Coronary Heart Disease? Warning signs are the things that we need to know to prevent more serious complications like heart attack, and stroke. A heart attack occurs when the part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies because they do not receive the required oxygen. Oxygen is transported to the heart by arteries (blood vessels). Heart attacks are usually caused by blockage in the treaties. Heart disease can also be caused by a blood clot that get stuck in a narrow part of an artery to the heart. Studio Recording Tips For Musicians

The recording process can be a daunting task for new artists and established bands alike. Sessions can take too long, albums can go over budget, and musical and artistic differences can put a real strain on band relationships. Here are a few useful tips for artists preparing to record at a studio that can help save time, money, and relationships.

# 3 – Think about the sound you want to achieve

Nobody likes to classify their sound, but it is important to have reference points when trying to explain the tone you're looking for. Listen through your favorite CDs and find elements that are similar to the sound you're trying to achieve. Being able to say "I really like the drum sound on song x" or "I want a vocal reverb like song y" is a huge help for the recording engineer. It's not about copying the sound of another artist, it's about establishing a starting point for your creative vision.

# 2 – Get your gear into shape.

Before coming into the studio make sure your gear is in good working order. Change guitar strings and drum heads. Swap out the batteries in any active gear. Get some WD40 for that squeaky kick drum pedal! You may want to get any guitars or electric basses checked out by a tech beforehand; if the neck needs adjusted there is little a studio engineer that can do fix the intonation.

# 1 – Prepare your songs!

In my opinion, the # 1 way to save time and produce the best recording is to come into the studio with your songs prepared. You do not want to waste your studio time working out arrangements, you want to spend it tracking and mixing. Sure, those moments of artistic inspiration happen when you want to try a different harmony or rearrange a chorus, but the bulk to your arrangements should be complete.

Last month I had a band come in that bought a spreadsheet outlining instrumentation for every song. It sounds sort of nerdy, and not at all "Rock & Roll", but it was a huge time saver. Remember to establish the tempo for each song. Nobody wants to record the rhythm section tracks and realize it's the wrong tempo once the vocalist cuts their lead.

When working out arrangements remember that recording in a studio allows you to do things you can not do live; things like harmonies, doubled parts, or extra instruments. Take the time to work these ideas out before stepping in the studio and you'll save money and end up with a better recording.
