Skin Care Tips for Black Men

Pseudofolliculitis barbae, more known to us brothas as, "razor bumps", arise on the faces of men with coarse, wiry, curly hair. Around fifty and eighty percent of Black men live with the issue of ingrown hairs and razor bumps, every day.

Razor bumps appear when beard hairs, more often around the neck area, curl as they grow and burrow into the skin adjacent to the hair follicle. Shaving sharpens the hair ends, making it easier for them to penetrate the skin.

Razor bumps itch, burn, can cause scarring, and make shaving virtually impossible. Many Black men have resisted to depilatory creams which seem to work a great deal better than blades. But, some depilatories, if not used correctly, may irritate the skin.

Some creams are able to help for some time, but sooner or later side effects for long term use catch up.

How Ingrown hairs begin

Both sexes suffer from ingrown hairs. But men tend to undergo the most because of the coarseness, or thickness of the hair follicles on the face and neck. Ingrown hairs build after the hair has been cut or otherwise removed below the skin surface. As your hair grows, it curls over inside the follicle and does not make it to the surface. The result is an unsightly, "bump" on the skin.

A few razor bumps moreover form when a growing hair exits the follicle and bends back towards the skin surface. When these sharp, shaved edges of coarse hair reach the skin surface, they burrow back into the skin producing puffy, pimple like bumps to appear.

Solving Ingrown Hairs

A good number of men have found that the only solution to the dilema is tweezers. Most of us know it is not the best sensation, but african american men have not found a better solution.

Below are 8 shaving tips that may help ease some of the pain and more importantly, save your face:

Using a shaking lotion after shaving should less the appearance of redness. This goes for the ladies too. You can use this technique for legs, bikini lines and underarms.

Be sure to always use a clean blade when shaving with a razor. This can be properly achieved by only using new blades and throwing away ones that have been previously used three or more times.

For those of you who use electric shavers, remember to replace the rotary blades or foil after a couple of months. Of course if you're required to shave daily, you may have to replace them sooner. This can be a headache since many rotary blade components are priced more than half of what the whole razor is worth.

While shaving with a handheld razor, always shave in the direction of hair growth. The majority of men's face hair slant downward, so be sure to shave in that direction. This is also critical around the neck areas since shaving against the grain is one of the main causes of pointy, sharp hairs that can burrow back into the skin.

Never stretch your skin while shaving. Pulling your shoulders, chin or neck while shaving in order to get a closer shave, may cause darkness and discoloration of underlying skin tissue. This is very true for light and fair-skinned Black men who have dark, coarse hair.

Watch what you eat. Many skin irritations may subside if certain foods are avoided. Fatty foods, foods containing oils, cholesterol and sodium, can make your skin more propense to damage when shaving.

Depilatories got the work done fast, but its not a dream come true. Like razors, it can leave you redness and some irritation. Remember never to use an alcohol based cream after using a depilatory. Without you want to feel like your face is on fire.

Grow a beard. This may not be the right solution for those required to shave daily, such as the military and other business professions. But if you can handle this style, go for it! You will totally eliminate the razor bump worries and ingrown hair issues. Even better, you can get rid of those sharp blades!

10 Tips For Traveling Free

Everyone wants to go on vacation, but most times what we want can be out of our budget. Here are some tips to get what you want for a little money OR free.

1) If you do not travel for business, or have frequent flyer miles on any airlines, you can STILL acquire miles. Every airline has credit cards that will give you miles. Hotel companies do the same thing.

2) Some credit card companies, like American Express, allow for moving miles to airlines or hotels, these companies will allow you to have more choices in using your miles. USE these credit cards for groceries and gas- everyone uses those- and you will get your frequent flyer miles without getting on an airplane.

3) PLAN AHEAD. Using frequent flyer miles is NOT an easy feat these days. If you want to travel to a popular destination, you need to start getting these seats as soon as the airlines put them out there, usually 330 days in advance.

4) BE FLEXIBLE. It; s easier to get where you want to go if you're willing to adjust your dates or, sometimes, change planes to get there.

5) BE PREPARED TO PAY SOME MONEY. Airlines, even on free tickets, charge for taxes. Depending on where you decide to travel, it can be in excess of $ 100.00.

6) Once all of your plans are confirmed, start finding all of the places you can visit, while in your vacation spot, for free. Sometimes discounting trip excursions for reserving these tours in advance.

7) PACK LIGHTLY. Airlines are now charging for extra bags.

8) TIP the maid and concierge at your hotel choice, in the beginning of your vacation. The concierge will be much more helpful in finding the best deals near the hotel- restaurants, tours, etc … AND the maid will happily give you those extra towels or pillows everyone needs.

9) TIP AGAIN, a stipend, at the end of your vacation. Remember, not all employees work everyday.

10) DEPARTURE TAXES. Some places charge to leave. Research your vacation of choice to be sure you have enough money to go home.

These tips make any vacation easier and less expensive in the long run.

5 Paint By Number Top Tips

Paint by Number is such a relaxing artistic hobby. It allows you to create a really beautiful painting without years of art classes and too much talent. I have enjoyed painting by numbers as hobby for years and I have picked up a few great tips that help me produce a really pretty painting that I’m proud of.

Here are my top 5 tips:

1. Choose the Right Kit: There is a huge range of Paint by Number (PBN) kits available and some are more difficult than others. If you are experienced and looking for a real challenge, then you can go for that complex landscape with lots of detail or even that Oil PBN kit. On the other hand, if you are at a more beginner level and you really want to produce a nice-looking result, stick to the standard acrylic kits. These are cheaper and come in lots of simple designs: still-lifes; colorful fantasy paintings; dogs, cats, horses and other animal portraits.

2. Have the Right Supplies: Good PBN kits contain almost everything you need to complete your masterpiece. That’s why it’s such an easy and affordable artistic hobby. However, you will also need a few extra items that you probably have lying around the house: a palette (a smooth plastic plate works great), a clear cup for washing your brush between colors, and a rag for wiping your brush gently after you wash it. This keeps your paints clean and pure.

3. Take your Time: A single PBN kit can provide you with many hours of relaxation and entertainment, so enjoy it! Put on your favorite music (nothing too energetic), make yourself a hot drink, and sit down in a calm place. Then begin painting, color by color. Sometimes I get bored of painting a particular color or area, so I switch to a whole different section. It is very satisfying to watch the picture take shape over the hours and week. There is no rush.

4. Stay Inside Lines: Your kindergarten teacher was right about this one – it definitely makes for the best results. With the more detailed Paint by Numbers designs it can actually be quite hard. I bought a special fine artists brush to help me do this. It only cost a few dollars and it lasts a very long time.

5. Get Creative with the Colors: You don’t have to stick exactly to the colors listed on the numbering sheet. Often your picture just looks better if you add a bit of white or yellow to the color listed. This is true especially if you want your painting to look very similar to the original. I enjoy experimenting with the colors, and I do it more as I get more experienced with PBN.

The most important thing is definitely to relax and let your creative juices flow. Enjoy this time that you’ve taken for yourself!

Forex News Trading Tip – How To Trade The FOMC

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision on interest rates is one of the most powerful
market movers in the forex market and when the markets move traders trading the news have the
opportunity to make money.

The FOMC sets the rate rate or federal funds rate and because interest rates are set higher to indent foreign investment and therefore fight inflation during times of prosperity and lower to increase spending during recessions that are one of the main factors influencing the strength of the dollar.

Economic indicators play a huge role in the forex trading especially for traders who approach the market through fundamental analysis and trade the news. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) interest rate decision is one of the most influential indicators for the US dollar and you can be sure after the news is released there is going to be volatility in the markets and volatility is what traders thrive on.

I have heard many 'traders' say never to trade the news and especially the FOMC. Although the FOMC interest decision is a news event and can fall under the category of through fundamental analysis I am a technician and I believe that charts always price everything in. However I guarantee the market does not know what exactly the Feds comments and decision will be, therefore it is not priced in yet and this will cause the markets to react when they do find out. This is confirmed by the change in price after the decision and the continuation in the days following.

I have been trading the Fed for eight years now and yes I have been burnt in the past and that is exactly how I have come to learn how to trade it properly. The most common pattern to trade the Fed is the whip-saw. But do not be fearful of it, embrace it. Here is how it happens, first there is a large spike one direction (traders come in and follow that direction) followed by a large spike in the opposite direction (those same traders now sell their first position at a loss and reverse their position – this is when I take a position in the direction of the original move) followed by an extended move back in the direction of the original spike (all the emotional trades are left sick to their stomachs) and I am left holding a very nice position setting myself up to capture a larger than average market move.

If this pattern does not play out exactly as outlined I stand on the sidelines and do not trade at all. Because the markets are moving fast in the period following the FOMC interest rate decision I am watching a very short time frame, mainly the one and five minute charts.

Weight Watchers Top 15 Tips And Tricks

Top 15 Way To Make Weight Watchers Work For You

Weight Watchers Tips & Tricks

I have to say that the years that I've been on and off Weight Watchers, it has ALWAYS worked for me! But it definitely requires some hard work and commitment.

So that being said here is my top 25 list of how I have succeeded on Weight Watchers.

1. Keep A Journal – This is a definite must! There is no way to keep track of everything without one. You must update your journal with all the foods / drinks you consume on a daily basis. Most of the time we tend to forget those few snacks that we had through the day. By always having your journal handy, write it down immediately whether it be just a few cookies or just a glass of wine.

2. Liquids – It's a great idea to always have a bottle of water with you all the time. This way you can just sip on water all day. And before you know it, you'll always have the 6 glasses of water that you should take in 1 day. Sometimes when you feel hungry, it's not actually that you need food. You may just need some water. So this is a great tip if you just ate a snack, but it did not quite fill your hunger. Being hydrated helps! And if water does not quite do it for you, have a diet soda, which it a little more sweet and may be more fulfilling than a plain old glass of water.

3. Food / Snacks – Find those low point snacks and stick to them! They will help through the day when you feel your belly asking you for some food. I personally like to have apples and carrots at work and home. Of course you do not need to only eat these. But that's just what I like for a low or zero point snack. It's OK to indulge in some sweets now and then, but make sure you know how many points that chocolate bar is.

4. Grocery Shopping – MAKE A LIST! And before you go grocery shopping, make sure you know the points values of the foods you buy before going to the supermarket. It's a good idea to write down the points values of the items you're going to by next to each item on your list. If something is not on your list that you found in the supermarket, be sure to read those labels and serving sizes. Calculate those points!

5. Cooking – I like to stick to the healthier choices when cooking. For example, use I Can not Believe it's not butter instead of regular butter. Use fat free items such as fat free chicken broth. If you're having a salad, there are many fat free dressings available in all types of varieties. Just be smart!

6. Weighing / Measuring Foods – Buy a scale! I recommend the Weight Watchers scale. It weighs in grams and in ounces. Of course you can use other scales, I just prefer to use the Weight Watchers scale. It's actually quite shocking to see a 4 oz. piece of steak on your plate and see how small it actually is.

7. Eating Out – Make healthy choices. If you indulge yourself in your favorite dish that's 20+ points, a good thing to do is ask for a container as soon as you get your food. Put half into the container and save it for lunch tomorrow. And if you must have that piece of cheesecake for dessert, why not share with your friend instead of eating the entire slice yourself! And remember to follow my restaurant guide for the points and points plus values.

8. Friends & Family – Make sure to find a companion along the way to help you with your weight loss journey, even if this friend is not on weight watchers. It makes it so much easier to stay on track if you have someone by your side rather than on your own. Tell your family you're on a diet so they do not force the extra helping of mashed potatoes on you! (My mom is notorious for doing things like this!)

9. Use The Calculator – Make some informed decisions and use the points calculator to figure out exactly how many points something is and do not just guess. Knowing how many points something is will help you make that decision if you think you are still hungry and want something more.

10. Exercise – This is one of the most important things to do if you want to shed those pounds even quicker. I know it's hard to go out and actually do it. But if you have your mind set and want to lose weight, this is the best thing for your body and health! It helps you not only lose weight but it with burn fat, build some muscle and even eat a little something extra with since you get a few additional points if you exercise. These are called Activity Points and these can be added to your daily intake. So the more you exercise, the more points you can get and the more you can eat! Of course, just be smart and do not think after an hour of exercising you should go home and eat whatever you want. All that exercising you just did, was worthless if you do this. It may help to eat a small protein within a half hour after exercising. This will help your body's metabolism work better.

11. Meetings / Support Groups – These will definitely help you along your journey. You can share your stories with other members and see how they're doing compared to you. It's not a contest, so do not get down on yourself if others are shedding pounds sooner than you. At these meetings be sure to talk to everyone and you'll get some great ideas for everything from low point snacks, to great restaurants to eat at. If you're doing this on your own and at home, join some forums and share your stories.

12. Weigh Ins – The dreaded weekly weigh-ins. I know it's hard to see that you only lost 1 pound or even earned 1 pound after eating healthy the entire week and exercising. Do not get discouraged and stick to it. Maybe you can try to change a few things that you've been eating. Or if you have not been exercising, start !. But, once you get in the groove, you'll be eating better, and feeling healthier and those pounds will start falling off! Trust me!

13. Diet? – Do not think of yourself as always being on a diet. This is a lifestyle change! This is actually how you should be eating. Once you learn that, you'll feel as if you're not even dieting. If you feel like you're on a diet, you're already setting yourself up for failure. And once you know the points values right off the top of your head, it does not even feel like it's a diet. It become routine.

14. Just Live Your Life – Again, if you feel your dieting, it's not going to work. I know when you first start "dieting" you seem to be hungry ALL THE TIME. This will change once you get used to your new lifestyle. It's all about choices. Make the right choices for the foods you eat and when you go out to a restaurant. It's in your own hands.

15. The New You – You've stuck with it and it's working! That's great! Now keep it up and stay on track!

Good luck to everyone!

We're here to help if you need us!

Las Vegas Vacation – Tips, Tricks and Cautions

These “cautions”, “tips”, and “tricks” are offered to help make your Las Vegas Vacation as enjoyable, fast and easy to plan as possible. Whether this is your first trip to “Fabulous Las Vegas” or you are a veteran, you’ll find some useful tips and tricks here.

Las Vegas Travel Tips: First and foremost, the biggest mistake many travelers to Las Vegas make in planning a trip is to book the cheapest air fare/hotel package “available anywhere”. These are offered everywhere from your hometown newspaper to television ads to especially, e-mail spam. Beware!

Why? A Cheap Las Vegas Vacation is good, we agree! BUT, did you know virtually all Las Vegas Hotels have 2- 3 levels of room quality (or options)? Now, we mean even many of the five star, “big ones” many of these are just plain substandard rooms, maybe with a nice view of the air conditioning system! (This actually happened to me personally, and was it Loud!)

Things like older bed mattresses, no safes, old decorating, long walks to the casino, restraunts, shows, or even a taxi. Did you know there are monorail trains running right behind some of the rooms? How about a roller coaster right outside your window? And lots more. Just remember “cheapest” is just that. Ask at the front desk at check-in exactly where your room is, look at it before signing in if possible.

We aren’t pushing for only high dollar rooms here, just get the best quality room your budget will allow, you will be very glad you did.

Why book your Hotel first? Las Vegas is booked up an average of 94% year round, so plan ahead (at least 30+ days is recommended) to get the exact days you want, where you want, room quality you want. Plus, usually it’s less expensive to book well in advance. Did you know that Sunday through Thursday is less expensive? When you get your selected Las Vegas Hotel booked, then you can book a flight to fit the days in and out to fit YOUR schedule.

Makes sense doesn’t it?

Once you get your Las Vegas Hotel booked first. Then you can book the Las Vegas Shows that you want, when you want. Be sure to check to see if your particular show choice isn’t “dark” on your selected days. Holidays are a good example of dark days.

Then book your Las Vegas Tour. (If you have never experienced the thrill of a Helicopter Ride at night over “Glitter Gulch and Downtown”, or a daytime trip over the Boulder Dam and Grand Canyon this is something you will never forget!) It isn’t as expensive as you might think! Check our tours links for prices and times.

This is the entertainment capital of the World, so allow yourself enough time to take in as many attractions (dozens are free) as possible, it will make your Las Vegas Vacation much more memorable. If possible, book an extra night stay just to allow for a special Las Vegas Tour or a day of Las Vegas Golf.

Las Vegas Gambling Tips:

Gambling is the lifeblood of Las Vegas. You didn’t really think those billion dollar hotels were built by “winners” did you? Set a daily budget for gambling and stick to it! You do have a good chance at winning. Hundreds if not thousands of “Hand Pay Jackpots” are paid every day. Be careful though, those chips, tokens and ticket-in/ticket-out seem too much like “play money” they are not they are your real money! Stick to your budget! Did I say that already?

Get a “players card” everywhere you go and use it, or if you are a “table player” ask the pit boss to “rank” or “rate” you. They will track your play and comp you accordingly with all kinds of free stuff. Such as meals, rooms, clothing, limos, gift shop points and even cash. These really help put the odds in your favor.

Seems like my “budget” is always too small, but try your best to set a reasonable daily goal and stick to it, don’t tap into tomorrows budget! Just maybe you’ll walk away a big winner! It happens every day. Remember the phrase: “Walk away when ahead”!

It’s not my place to preach, but here are some very useful Las Vegas tips on handling your money. All that cash in the casinos you see everywhere attracts some pretty shady characters (read Crooks!) Security is excellent, but there are always a few, and it just takes one to ruin a perfect vacation.

Las Vegas Security:

Ladies, bring or buy a small purse with a neck strap or waste pouch, or fanny pack, something that is comfortable enough to keep on your person all the time. Never ever set your purse on the floor or next to a machine, or on a stool next to you. This is a magnet for thieves! Keep that strap around your neck.

Most thieves work in pairs, one to distract you, the other to snag your purse. Just a couple types of distractions they use are: one will drop a coin or dollar bill or two near you on the floor and ask you “is that your cash on the floor?” while the other grabs your stuff, or overly talkative “players” will sit down next to you and jabber to get your attention, while their partner grabs your stuff, or hits the payout button and walks away with your ticket. Believe me. This does happen. They are very slick and fast, so just be aware.

When you do accumulate a couple winning tickets, hide them in your wallet or purse until you are ready to cash them in, and then stash the cash. Remember the “walk away” tip?

Men: It isn’t degrading to wear a waste pouch. Okay, if you just don’t want to, then fold your bills and keep them in your front pants pocket. If they “pickpocket” your wallet with all your credit cards in it at least you’ll have your cash, or vice versa, just keep them separated. And, watch those tickets.

If you do hit a good size jackpot, take the money to the safe in your room or take it to the Hotel desk for safekeeping. Or, ask for a Security escort to your room or car. They are happy to provide this service. Don’t walk around the casino or streets with a big wad of cash!

The Security at all Hotels and Casinos is excellent. With all those thousands of cameras (Eyes in the sky) every inch of the casino is being taped continuously. (Did you know that Nevada law requires casinos to have this level of security?) It is for your protection as well as the Hotel/Casino.

Now please understand, we are not trying to scare you away here, but rather just make you aware! It is real easy to get caught up in all the flashing lights, noise, overhead shows, people watching and normal distractions of a casino. Just don’t give them an opportunity to ruin your fun.

Follow these Las Vegas Travel Tips and they will make your Las Vegas Vacation a lifetime memory.

Top 10 Tips to Attain Maximum Sexual Pleasure

Sex is one of the most essential aspects of our life. Today every couple tries their best to attain maximum pleasure during sex. Below are some very useful tips that will help you to achieve better sex.

o You should be very clear with the fact that the arousal time of men and women are not similar and generally women need a longer period of foreplay before they are emotionally ready for penetration. Also give her a chance to be an active participant of the whole sexual act.

o You should always have plenty of foreplay before sexual intercourse as it makes orgasm more satisfying when you are warmed up for sexual union and intercourse.

o For men, it’s a great idea to become an expert in the arts of gentle touching, caressing and kissing. Vary the pressure of your touch or kiss, switch between firm and gentle pressure, pause and resume – all strategies which prevent the foreplay becoming boring.

o You may also try body massage with some aroma oil to each other to set a mood that can be highly erotic. There are many massage oils that are sensuous, relaxing and it’s a proven fact we enjoy sex more when we are relaxed. Choice of oils is down to personal taste.

o If sex is the same every time then it becomes boring, so add variety to your sex life. You must try some new sexual positions to make sex more exciting and pleasing.

o During sexual intercourse do not rush over your partner. A slow start with gradual increase will last longer and give you more sexual pleasure than a sex made in hurry.

o Always try to get your breathing rhythm in tandem with your partners, which will enhance the feeling of oneness. Correct breathing can greatly enhance your sex life and increase sexual satisfaction. So during intercourse learn to synchronize your breathing with your partners. This is a great way of feeling a total connection and union with your partner.

o When a woman reaches orgasm, it can be so intense that she needs a few minutes to recover and come fully back to the here and now. So after she’s enjoyed her orgasm, let her rest gently in your arms if that’s what she wants, feeling your love and affection before you continue with your sex.

o The act of penetration can be just as important to your partner as it is to you and you might be surprised to know that her desire to be penetrated by the man she loves and trusts can be just as strong as your desire to penetrate her. So when you get to the moment of penetration, be sensitive and respect the gift she is giving you in allowing you into her body.

o For men, another important point is to give your partner a good time emotionally as well as physically, with your attention fully focused on what you’re doing. Successful sex comes from being fully present with her during the act of lovemaking – being responsive to her movements, words, and feelings.
